Genealogy (from Greek: γενεάgenea, "generation"; and λόγοςlogos, "knowledge"), also known as family history, is the study of families and the tracing of their lineages and history. Genealogists use oral interviews, historical records, genetic analysis, and other records to obtain information about a family and to demonstrate kinship and pedigrees of its members. The results are often displayed in charts or written as narratives.
The pursuit of family history and origins tends to be sh aped by several motivations, including the desire to carve out a place for one's family in the larger historical picture, a sense of responsibility to preserve the past for future generations, and a sense of selfsatisfaction in accurate storytelling.
Presented here is the Genealogic record of Jacques R ivest and his parents who were born in the late 1500's and descending to current times. Also included are the Lytle and Ibison Families with Lytle being my Sister's husband and Ibison being my Daughter's husband.
Files, records and charts are provided for both the Genealogist and nonGenealogists alike. A gedcom file is pesented for perusal by genealogists and narrative charts and records for nongenealogists. Although portions of our genealogies are piecemealed around the Web, this is the Bible, or, most accurate depository for our overall complete effort. My sister and I are both genealogists and overall this genealogy has been in process since about 1998. As is often the case, data is limited for still living people for purposes of preventing Identity Theft. Since this spans about 600 years of history the deceased far outnumber the number of still living people whose identities are protected.
